TomWhite Our daughter lives in Denver, I got her from the airport yesterday. She had been there last Saturday. Parking at Mary Jane, she rarely drives the gondy. I used it two winters ago. Liftblog.com has an article as well.
lotsoskiing I am not an engineer, but the design of those sheave train carriers seems like it contributed to this break. Just seems like an awful lot of force on the middle of the arm that broke, seeing as the assemblies are at the far ends of the beam.
JMaul It seems that tower 2 being close by helped to stop the break from complete separation. Thankfully all were ok.
slatham Looks like a classic design flaw, unless they find an issue with the metal itself. In either case similar configurations and/or vintages installed worldwide need to be checked. Quickly.
