Most Snow in the Northeast

I'm curious, especially amongst you all who ski in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Skiing these states is a treat and usually a vacation for me so I don't have the wherewithal to judge on my own. With that being said who consistently receives the most snow. The General consensus in Jay Peak but I feel like Bolton gets really good snow as well as Stowe. I'm not one for averages because they can be misleading at times especially this latest winter. Just trying to plan a trip, we cant predict weather but we can try...

Saddleback and Big Moose easily get the most in Maine, and are almost always among the top in the northeast.

Jay, no contest.

Bolton, Stowe, and Smuggs all do quite well. I feel like the elevation of Mansfield gives Stowe the edge over Bolton, and Stowe seems to catch more than Smuggs. Outside of those four in NoVT, the Mad River Valley also does okay, though not as good.

After that, there are some areas that get around 200" per year, and then most other areas get half as much as Jay, or less.

If you are planning a trip, better to evaluate which areas meet your needs. Jay may get the most snow, but it also gets the most wind and its groomers can suck really bad, even after a storm. Whereas Stowe has some of the best groomers in the region, but... also other issues that come with that size and type of resort. Smuggs has lift lines and lacks wide open cruising (for folks that are into that sort of thing). Bolton lacks vertical and pitch. Pick your poison, they all have a draw back.

Rivercoil is spot on. I'll just add that Saddleback, while it doesn't get as much snow, holds the snow really well. If conditions are going to be good anywhere Saddleback is a safe bet. It probably gets similar snowfall to Sugarloaf, but there's a much better chance of lifts running at SB on stormy days. There's plenty of terrain off the Rangeley if the upper terrain is on hold, and even some variety with just the T.

The Tug Hill Plateau routinely beats Jay, but you didn't include New York in the question! ;)

I'm not familiar with the Tug Hill Plateau. If I did Google right, it appears to be south of Kissing Bridge and north of Holiday Valley. Is there a ski area near Tug Hill? Are there snow fall records?

Between Adirondacks and Lake Ontario. Snow Ridge in Turin is the ski area. Not exactly ski vacation destination resort, except for people like me who like to go to small areas just because. They advertise 230" a season. Jay is in the mid-300" range, and they are not fudging the numbers...it snows a lot there.

McCauley web site says: Annual snowfall is 281 inches, and has reached 400 inches.
Other sources list 107-250".

My Father Lives 10 minutes from McCauley I am well aware of their snow! Id like to take a trip with the little guy this year to Vermont, NH and Then Maine where my brother lives. 408 is the Most Snow McCauley has ever gotten.
