Oak Mountain in New York comes to mind. A neat little area.

Dirk: I don't think Round top was closed that long. I'll have to get a hold of Rick to confirm, but I don't think it was closed for more that 10-12 years.

Joshua: In the Private Club department, do we know about the history of Quechee? That must have been public at some point.

I know very little about Quechee. I was always of the impression that it was associated with the real estate development and that only in recent years has it become open to the public.

I checked with my dad this evening about Bousquet's. Despite some poor snow years in the 1970s and changes in ownership in the 1980s, Bousquet's remained open during those years.

As I said in an earlier post, I remembered that my parents spoke about a year in which conditions were so poor that Bousquet's never opened. That was probably sometime in the late 1940s. The ski area didn't "go NELSAP" then, though. Technically, Bousquet's was "open" for the season...there just wasn't enough cold weather and snow to make skiing worthwhile.
