Earlier reports said the new owners would pay more than $77,000 in back taxes -- BUT I noticed there's not a single local charity/organization on the list!! What about Vermont food banks and elementary schools? Nice way to build local good will, guys -- I wonder if the new management will prove to be as clueless as the current

Yeah, I don't really understand where their priorities are. If indeed, there is new ownership, the mountain is surely in need of improvements. Yet, they take their time (and presumably money) to do this? I mean, I'm all for charities....but you'd think their time and resources could be better spent, otherwise, I'm afraid, Magic might have to be on the receiving end of some charity. And they do it now? After they close for the season?

I don't get it.
And at last check, Boston College Law School was not doing too badly $$$ wise. This is odd. Makes no sense. I guess some things don't change.
And with regard to the overall pattern of thread topics, it is clear that the original poster has a vandetta against Magic. Why? I don't know nor do I care. How about something constructive and concrete?

I just check out the website, Summit you might be right, because there is no link to the message above. They have started to redesign the website and have added more photos to it, but no links to other areas. Very interesting, good observation there Summit.
I'm sure they donated lift tickets, not money. Ski areas do this all the time - it's a nice way to help out the community or a good organization while getting the mountain's name out there.
I actually called Magic Mountain today to verify the press release and yes indeed it is true. They will donation two lift tickets as part of a fundraiser's giveaway as long as the fundraiser is real. They asked for me to fax over documents regarding our fundraiser.
So that might explain the out of state listings, very surprising that they have not been approach by any local chapters within Vermont. It might explain why locals have not approached Magic for donations, it possibly suggests that they don't feel comfortable with possibility of the ski area closing and then the fundraiser committee would left holding bag on worthless donations. Not an image any fundraiser wants to portray.
I jumped to a conclusion before I checked out the landing . . . of course they would donate lift tickets, not money . . . I'm in the biz and I should know better.
