Donnie has been working hard, Fresh coat of paint almost finished on base lodge. The drive terminal for the phoenix lift should be poured next week sometime.

I see the painting as a positive sign that Magic will be back for the next season. I'll have to swing by to admire the paint job the next time I'm in the area hiking or mtn biking.

They painted it so that it looks attractive for the boxing match next weekend. A positive investment in the future of skiing would be a coat of paint on the lifts.

Yeah I saw a sign for the boxing match, is that live or tv, what is the story there?

Nonetheless, I think the lodge looked really nice in person, Windows are getting fixed, the place is getting cleaned up, the ski patrol shack is getting fixed with closeable shutters. At lease it is a step in the right direction, as many people expressed a dislike of the condition of the base area.

Agreed, I think it is great news. Great pictures, thanks for the post. Good to hear positive momentum up there.

Heard they have been working pretty hard up there, mowing slopes and working on some of the maintenance buildings. Great news.

Definitely some positive news.

The old Magic Mountain sign at the base of the access road is gone, i'm assuming a new one with the new logo will take its place?

I have a house within walking distance of magic so i hike there a lot and every time i always see someone working. its good to see some work being done there. it would suck for it to shut back down. anyways, little projects add up to make a lot. and where did the sign go, the other year the lodging sign never was put up nd now the magic sign is gone also.

Does anyone know if the green chair in the magic parking lot will ever be reinstalled, if not i would like to get one of the chairs.

That chair is partially going to be the phoenix lift and the rest is slated to be the beginner lift to the right of the triple.

I thought the lift couldent be built to the right of the tripple because of some issue with the condos or something, thats what one ski patroler said. Was he wrong?

There has been some talk of a beginner lift going back where thre had previously been one. There was even some talk from one of the minority owners of wanting to extend it to the bottom of Talisman. As far as I know, there is no land issue. I believe there is still interest in that project, it's just a matter of priorities.

I'm glad to see some work on the general appearance, and the blue chair will give a lot more appeal to families.
