Today's Bangor Daily News reports on a new handle tow behind the Caribou (Maine) High School for their ski team and local kids to learn to ski. 100' vertical. And more! The World Cup Biathalon team trials is being moved from Lake Placid to Ft. Kent on 72 hr. notice due to the recent rain deluge in NY State. Ft. Kent will be holding the biathalon world championships in March. The Libra Foundation, the same nonprofit that has pumped capital into Mars Hill and Black Mtn. of Maine, has funded a world-class x-c facility up there.

Yea, the Libra Foundation, funded by the woman who founded the Maine State Bank is amazing. Their headquarters is a couple of miles from me.

They bought an old abandoned state psych facility in New Glouster and invested millions in what is now an incredible high tech, social and educational facility that looks like a New England college campus called Pinelands. If you are in the Portland area it's worth a visit.
