I thought Stowe's look nearly perfect if not perfect. From Jeremy Beast's new pictures it looks like Loon's is tip top too.

From my experience you get the same 20 people in the pipe all day and half of them don't even buy a ticket, they just hike up and down. A better question would be

does the quality of the pipe figure into your decision to go to a mountain and buy a lift ticket? or even does having a pipe?

This would also answer the who cares? question. It is my bet that very few are concerned with the quality.[addsig]

I was wondering why lots of them walk up!

I honestly hadn't thought it was because they didn't want to pay for a ticket. I figured they couldn't be bothered skiing down non-half-piped sections of the trail to reach their beloved pipe![addsig]

its also fun to walk up the pipe and watch the others ride or ski
in it, plus its usally quicker to walk up the pipe than rid a lift .

Okemo's pipe(s) are massive, but they do tend to be icy, but on the other hand, the bigger the pipe the more icy it tends to be as walls hold less strength the bigger they get. Don't know about loon, their pipe looks ok but last time i was there it hadn't been cut in a while and had some pretty sketchy dips on the tops of the lips. The best pipe i've ever seen is the one at Park City in Utah, the same one the had for the olympics. Humongous, with perfect walls, and perfect snow. [addsig]

Stratton pipe rocks! Hands down.

Sunday River and the 'Loaf always have good pipes as well.

Gotta love spring riding....... esp. on the teles.[addsig]
