Newman, I don't recognize that ski area, but on this middle day of August, I'm certainly enjoying looking at your snowy photo!

I does look a little like GGN or Granite Peak at Mountain Creek. But, no. This area does have connecting trails from sections.

Whatever it is, some criteria I noticed.
1. No snowmaking sticks in view. Either far enough north to rely on natural, or not very high traffic enough to rate dedicated snowmaking.
2. There is a sign for a trail just off to the left. Looks to be white letters on blue background, but cannot say if rating is square or diamond. Nonetheless, it appears to be ungroomed/closed.
3. No tracks in the grooming, and unless this placed regroomed in the afternoon, the picture was taken in the morning, and therefore the trail has a southern exposure.
4. There is a blue water tower in the distance down the ridge.

The groomed trail is novice. It is facing southeast. The mountain is not a south facing area. (such as Bromley) Just this section. The name of this trail had the same name of a novice trail at Haystack, VT.
Here is a diamond on the same day.

I know its not, but still looks like Great Gorge North to me. Looking up to the skiers left after you take the S turn connecting trail to GG North. I think it was called Grand Prix.

The connecting trail ran downhill in the outer direction. You couldnt see the front side of the mountain. The place where the s turn trail you speak of, which came out at the bottom of Gran Prix (now Devils Bit) was only visibale from Gorge South from Kamakazi or the newer Bear Claw.

Quote: North of the banana belt.
And you tell me I give no clues?
And midatlanticlost no one in either picture.
So north of West Virginia then? So that only leaves about 26 more states, if it is even in the US of A.
Continuing with the wild guesses, Keystone for the Last Chance ski trail.

I said not New England and open. Then later said not bannana belt. I did not say a midwest area, as some of the guesses have been listed as of late. If it was out west or Alaska or something, I would of said so, since this is a east and New England chat site. So that gets you down to 3 states. Its been said its not Mountain Creek NJ, and Hidden Valley and Campgaw are not big enough for connector trails. so its not NJ. That gets it down to two states. That gives alot of clues. Better clues than " by a tad, I ment versus like going to Seattle". Keep guessing like me on yours. I was pulling my hair out.
