All right, you have teased us for 5 days.

Correct answer, please, or I will have to go over to the Killington Zone and see what the juvenile crowd is talking about this week.

Hardly seems that big in the picture.... love their 'regional comparison' graphic: Granite

I wonder if the person who came up with Titus' vertical drop stats also did this artwork...

Sorry folks, I've been offline in the Adironacks reading my new book.

Correct.
The hint after the Bessimer guess should have been enough?

JB, given ski_it's original photo, this artwork must be showing the Back Bowls of these midwestern ski areas.

And then there's this opening line of the caption:
If you hadn’t just driven here in a couple of hours, you’d think you were skiing out West.

Somehow I don't think so.

Never been there, but the web says the si areas near Bessimer are:
Big Powderhorn Mountain
Blackjack Ski Resort
Indianhead Mountain Resort
Porcupine Mountains
Whitecap Mountains

So I assume it's one of those.

I guess I was unclear?
I said close to Bessemer, MI in longitude.
Approx.:
Bessemer, Michigan 46.4814° N, 90.0528° W
Rib Mountain or Granite Peak Ski, Wisconsin 44.9208° N, 89.6944° W
That is 0.3584 degrees apart.
Newman's next guess after that was Cascade, WI 43.5392° N, 89.4625° W which is 110 miles due south, or in midwestern terms, darn tooting close.

It is Granite Peak Ski Area, located in Rib Mountain State Park in Wausau, Wisconsin, has 72 runs on a 700 foot vertical.

72 runs???? Holy lift count inflation...I take back the Titus comment; their marketers clearly worked for Killington.

If I were to drive 10 hrs and stay in my state(on goodish roads) I'd tackle the Midwest bohemoth, and a couple Joshua listed. Or for that matter drive a few more hrs and meet up w the Snowjournal south gang.

No mention of Bohemia in comparison
Love the center pole double pic

Excellent history section , mention of Fred Pabst

I may have to take a week and ski the western upper peninsula and Granite/rib to check out the trail inflation. Heck I might as well go all the way to Lutsen!
