From the sound of the article it sounds more like things are moving along pretty much as expected. I wouldn't be surprised if the program isn't continually extended. The way Dave Strong and Michael Bergeron make it sound this program will continue for quite some time.

I hope so.
Glad to see that you're a glass is ½ full type of guy. I hope they do succeed and they can extend the deadline, but like the old (and new) Red Sox line it always seems to be "wait 'till next year".

There's no waiting for friends on a powder day.
I'd be surprised if they make their goal. I just don't see Ragged ever making it as a big resort. And EB5 has been around for a some time now, I imagine investors are getting used up. There isn't an unlimited amount of people willing to make risky investments in exchange for getting bumped to the top of the visa list.
A friend of mine told me that the proposed ACR development around the old Big Tupper ski area was also trying to get in on the EB-5 deal. They got the county to spend about $125000. just to apply to be eligible to use the EB-5 program but ended up not even getting that. It sounds like a pretty good deal if you can get, why not. You get basically free money, it's really a good deal for the ACR project because they have absolutely no money or investors. And the main face of the whole project, Tom Lawson is hanging on by the skin of his teeth financially.
