At Mt. Snow, before the Corinthia area became mostly a park, I used to ski there a fair amount in the mix of my skiing. Since it was converted to a park, I feel like I lost alot of the mt. to ski on. Also, I noticed that alot of money is spent on snowmaking at Carinthia while the rest of the area was paying the price for that with thin covered snowmaking trails. With Mt. Snows water problem, I think that they didn't make good decisions here. For me it seemed like they were forgetting about 80% of their customers to cater to the needs of 20%. It would be interesing to know how much Mt.Snow spends on pipes and parks compared to Okemo or Stratton. As far as Stratton goes, thay have a big TV contract (whatever that big event is called) that must help in this area. Anyway, one of the reasons I left Mt. Snow. I think Okemo spends the least in this area compared to the other two?
Re: Carinthia. Until the West Lake, or whatever it is called now, project is completed, Carithia will always have much more snow as it is on a completely separate snowmaking system from the main face of Mt. Snow. They have an edfectively unlimited source of water for Carinthia and a highly limited source for the rest of the mountain with no way to get the water between the two parts. This should be fixed in a few years.
