In an attempt to semi-revive/update an old topic, the topic on the East Double at Cranmore got me enticed to refresh a running list we have going on the oldest operating lifts in the North East. Here is Woodcore's post from the original 2004 topic we had running on the oldest lifts in the North East. Based on the information we gathered then, what has changed? I'll make a few changes here and there and let me know/Woodcore know what others need to be edited.

Glancing at that list, the following should probably be removed:

- Granny's Double (gone)
- Scooter Double (gone)
- Top Flight (I believe only the towers are original)
- Diamond Express (gone)

Do rope tows count? The main rope tow at Northeast Slopes in East Corinth Vermont has been in operation since 1936. I skied there last Sunday 3/04 and had a blast. Nice conditions considering the winter that we've had.

The Wilderness, Mid Mountain, and Snowflake chairs at Bolton Valley are all 1966 Hall. The Vista double at Bolton Valley was a Poma, installed in 1970 -1971 'ish . That lift was replaced by the Vista quad around 2005.

Village Double at Smugg's was installed in 1967.

The T-bar at Living Memorial Park is the twin of lift #3 at Hogback, both were bought at the same time (to save money) and installed in 1964.

Wasn't the single chair at Mad River Glen replaced with a new one?

They refurbished as much of it as they could, but a lot of the main components were new if I recall.

That brings up the question: when is a lift still the same lift?

Village Double at Sugarbush is roughly the same vintage as Valley House. I remember riding it a lot when I was 6.

Laurie, I wonder how old the T-bar at Ward is. If it's the original, it's been there a long time.

A T-Bar was installed there in 1965, and possibly another in 1968.

Mt. Snow's Ego Alley chair is listed in the late 60's to early 70's with the install. It was actually installed in the '85 - '86 range.

But it was installed on the towers of the old Gondola #2, which was originally installed in he 60's.

I'm still not sure:
Does MRG's completely rebuilt lift still count as a 1948 lift?
How much of a lift hass to be changed before it is considered a new lift?
