It can include anything... Amusement Parks, Race Tracks, Malls, Railway Lines, Urban places, or anything else you can think of... The full list of all closed parks in the US and world. Has lists of most rides in the parks. Very cool. weirdnj.com- interesting NJ stuff like defunct insane hospitals, and a good article on Vernon Valley Ski Areas Action Park. ALSO treeview coasters- A skilift.org type of site for coasters. All parks and coasters past and present. Size, speed, builder, year built, and lots of photos. I have no idea how to link any of these to here. Sorry, but enjoy!

I found the link to the PA historical imagery site through it. I also have a handful of Road racing "ghost tracks" sites and some abandoned subway line sites bookmarked on another computer. Will post those tonight. Edited to add: here we go: Circuits of the past - Old European GP Circuits Track History Links - links to info for a number of US Ghost Tracks (including a functioning ski area) BARC Boys - history of a number of lost and existing tracks in the North East North American Motorsports page - lists current and "historic" race tracks. commentary note - there sems to be two kinds of sites out there. History sites and abandonment exploration sites. Each has its part to add to the discussion.

They have some great write ups of several old malls in Bergen County NJ, and Upstate NY, with eerie photos of them after they closed. It's another trip back to childhood (and time waster)!

Too many scared to death kids: Scared to death is right. I went there when I was a kid. 5 or 6 years old. I will never forget it. The cylindrical things the kid is holding onto is essentially a punching bag. You were in an area with loads of them. Bigger kids would grab the bottom of adjacent bags, and use all their might to squish you between. Also what the kid is standing on looks like gravel, but is actually wood chips. They were not fun to fall on. After being squished between said punching bags... Also the bears or whatever the hell they were were creepy.

Furthermore, one of the pair of lost ski areas/airfields is also within sight of a lost car race track in an another town. Andre Dubus might say there is a lot of lost things in this town.
