Can't justify driving 2-3 hrs to pay $65 for a half open hill although Nubbys Nob looks the best as usual. Winter arrives in vengeance here tommorow for the New Year. __________

Sad, but I like tennis nearly as much and right now I am sure my forehand will be a lot better than my turns __________ let's go while we're young!

Not happy about the limited terrain, but what can you do. Impatiently waiting for some good natural to fall so Living Memorial Park can open (I do most of my skiing there because it's cool and I don't have much money.)

Leaving Tuesday for a short trip to Shawnee/Bretton Woods/Cranmore for a few days. Not excited about the limited terrain but it's not like we have much better choice out there.

No partying for the wife and I last night so we got a good workout and made the summit by 10 am. Joshua, I leaned to ski at Dutchess back in the 60's and I didn't know of anything on Mt beacon other than Dutchess and the incline railway which serviced the casino at the summit way back when. __________ Young enough to ski hard but old enough to know when.

January 1st, and I was dressed for spring skiing. Lightweight liner (didnt need the shell on my coat), spring gloves, no helmet liner, no face warmer...and I was still sweating like a pig. My niece, who usually is freezing in 10 layers of clothes, was skiing with her jacket unzipped! Unbelievable. Snow conditions were complete slush. Felt like the end of the season.

I would love to do a SJ trip up there sometime, as there are a number of old Dutchess remains still showing even though it's been lost for over three decades. __________ Young enough to ski hard but old enough to know when.

Zero, if I don't count the two times in my backyard on Oct. 30th & 31st. Poor conditions, daughter's surgery, & general laziness have kept me home. Although it sounds like the central and northern New England Mtns are finally getting some deeper snowfall the last couple days. I don't always manage to get out before Mid-Jan. IMHO Xmas is expensive for the product available and usually with too many people on too little terrain. When I'm spring skiing in April with no crowds, lots of sunshine and none of that depressing darkness at the end of the day, I wonder why I ever ski in January in the first place. __________ Saving Our Ski Areas - I'm Skiing New England - or the New England Ski Area Project

I usually don't go until most trails are open, it's a long drive. Except 2 years ago I went to meet NELSAPers in December at Okemo (1/4 open), and last year to Mohawk in December because my daughter wanted to go (4 trails open).
