I drove by it a couple of years ago while driving from Montreal to Jay Peak. It looked pretty cool...not sure how big it is as far as vertical. Looked like it had some fun, old school trails though.
Anybody been there? Looks like a huge place...may be going up in January.

It would be better to go there late season, I went up to Mont Saint Anne onetime and the conditions were horrible that was in Feb. I have been looking at Canada sites and they have been having the same weather up and down.
Would like to someday ski the Chic Choc's. Also remember that the dollar is less in Can. now. If that matters.

I've been to most of the Eastern Township areas. Unfortunately, I missed Bromont. I've yet to go to an area of over 1000' vertical that wasn't well worth a day of my time.
As to when to go: It is generally true that late February has the deepest bases, but ski conditions are the ultimate "crap shoot" if you are planning in advance. I noted from my skiing log that a year ago my home area (Crotched Mt. if there is any SJ reader who doesn't know that) was 100% open with an excellent bump run. This year, about 75% open and not yet for bumps and woods.
Last March I went to Jay Peak for a vacatin and caught a 42" snowstorm the day I arrived. Three years ago, it rained two of the 4 days of my vacation, including one day that the mountain (Smuggs) didn't even open.
All that being said, this winter just isn't looking promising and maybe close-to-home trip with spontaneous plans might be more prudent
I've gone night skiing a couple times there en route to Ottawa. Its a pretty decent little place, to me it skis bigger then it really is if only due to the fact that place pretty much encompasses the mountain. I've never been in the day but I think they offer about double the terrain day vs night (If their marketing is true, its the largest night ski area in NA). They offer some pretty good ticket deals too, like a 4hr ticket or something. Def worth a try even more so if your looking for a quick on/off highway place going to MTL.
A thousand-foot vertical, multiple faces, draws a heavily urban crowd. Here's a 2006 trip report that includes skiing at Bromont on my birthday. Unlike most areas, Bromont provides glades for skiers of all abilities.

Thanks everybody, I may be going up for day during MLK weekend. I may have a choice between there and Burke, and though I really want to try out Burke's HSQ, they only have a few trails open from the top. Bromont would be something new, and they are 40-50% open.
As for heading out west, that will be hopefully in 2013, February or so.
