Posted: Jan 03, 2012 - 4:45 PM GMT Yeah Yeah.. its MALSAPPED, not NELSAPPED, but for the weirdest chain of reopening events, I nominate Canaan Valley and Whitegrass ski touring centers: 1954 - Washington Ski Club starts Cabin Mountain Ski Area 1955 - Barton opens Weiss Knob Ski Area 1959 - State of WV takes Weiss Knob, Barton moves to a new location on Bald Knob of Cabin Mountain 1962 - Cabin Mountain Ski Area closes. 1970 - Weiss Knob Ski Area (on Cabin Mt) closes, Canaan Valley Ski Area on Weiss Knob opens. 1981 - Whitegrass ski touring center opens on Weiss Knob Ski Area site on Cabin Mt. |
