If anyone has one of those old Master Combination locks that had the loop on it that went around your skis - I'm looking to buy one. I just lost mine somewhere this weekend.

Send me a PM if you have one you are willing to sell.

Is this the one that had the cable loops...that were able to lock up your poles and then you slid the metal "clip" that was attached to the cable loop down around the poles and then wrapped the rest around your skis..and then the lock cable would slide through a hole on the cable loop so you could lock multiple sets of skis on the same lock?

I don't have any. But I remember that lock very well!

I got the one on ebay!

The one that jmaul posted is a good one also. If anyone has one of those - I'd be interested in getting another one.

Have one of these I bought back around 1981. Will never sell it, sorry SJ-ers.

I dont think you can find any locks these days that actually lock your poles tightly, so they cant be inadvertently taken by some 16 year old renter who just grabs the first poles he can find near his rental skis.

These old Master locks do it, and are invaluable!

I don't understand why Master doesn't make these locks any more. They are gold!

Now for a rehash of my favorite stolen pole story.
Many years ago at Smugglers I was skiing with a friend who did a face plant into some powder. It was about 5 degrees. By the time he got to the bottom his face was mostly white. We went in the lodge to thaw him out for awhile. When we went back out and began gathering our gear a 14-15 year old kid was rounding up his gear. Then a 6'6" guy with a plaid jacket and full red beard came roaring out of the lodge. (I always refer to him as the lumberjack). He picks the kid up by the collar and roars what do you think your doing those are my poles. Every time he says my poles he shakes the kid vigirously and his boots do a little dance like a puppet. Eventually the guy calms down and puts the kid down. At that point instead of saying I'm sorry they looked just like mine the little dummy says well someone took my poles. At this point the lumberjack proceeded to pick him up and shake him vigirously again.
