Hi all,

Big update today - Moose Mt in NH redone - check it out:

Moose Mt

Its now a tubing area with snowmaking and a groomer - but no skiing yet, and nothing imminent on that end.

Thanks to several NELSAPPERs who have documented this area in the last 4 years - we have it going from all grown in to cleaned up!

Jeremy

Great photos!

The first Eastern Ski Map 1960s reference I have to Moose is 1962-63.

I learned to ski in the early 70's at King Pine & Moose Mountain while up at my family's NH "summer" home, and at Klien Innsbruck while at my "real" home. I remember how I used to think that I was going to the "big" mountain when I skied at Moose.

I also remember that the upper mountain trails were classic NE ski trails, narrow and twisting down the mountain. I had a lot of fun on this hill and would really love to see my kids have a chance to ski it. I never skied Black Mt. as a kid but I have as an adult and get a similar vibe at Black. A very family friendly area with some classic NE trails.

That first brochure from the early 60s also provides a response to old folks who say that grammar skills have deteriorated from decades past, since it trumpets

Family Skiing At It's Best!

The NH spelling and grammer deficiencies go way back. Shoot Gilford was so named because of a spelling error (supposed to be Guilford). Go to Dover and read the signs depicting the floods and the changes to the town- filled with spelling/grammar mistakes. Kind of funny.

Oh, and Moose isn't off 11A - it's off 16 north of Rochester.

It would be interesting to see the old page again to see how it compares to the new.
