Honestly IMO Killington would be my choice for a skiing option over what Okemo will be offering on tuesday.
In any case, I stopped by Okemo yesterday on the way back from Killington and we took a look at the snowmaking at the base which still has a way's to go for TTB skiing.

Their opening is pretty getto. Download on Northstar and THEN ride a shuttle down. I'll drive the extra hour to Killington or wait for solid Top to Bottom from Mount Snow on Thursday.

Defiance or Upper World Cup sounds more fun to me than K-Marts Mouse Trap or Mt Snows front faces.

Eh, but T2B with a variety of trail options > half a mountain. Plus they've got all of Snowdon open/nearly open + the Glades, which lets you mix up the runs nicely.
Not factoring in cost, I'd say Killington's offer is much more compelling, especially if they get Snowshed open to weed out most of the true beginners.

I agree on the choices K-Mart has over Okemo. Like said, Glades and most of Snowdon. The Snowdon Quad will also be open. Just the whole K-Mart holiday idea scares me. Monday will be great. With the lack of T2B the crouds will stay smaller at Okemo. Plus more advanced terrain. Also the price would make me consider it. I would also see what Bromley and Flatton are opening. Also compare prices. Whoever decides to go, whatever mountain, enjoy. Id take anyone of them right now!

Snowmaking firepower is good to a certain extent, but as of late elevation, such as at Killington has helped them to build a deep base of TTB snow, where Okemo is struggling.
The latest forecast for the region calls for freezing rain from late thursday into friday which will not help with trail expansions.

Lower world cup has a decent amount of snow made on my estimate is one more good night of snowmaking and okemo will be t2b. Jolly Green Giant and Defiance also had signs of snowmaking.

That looked like fun! It must be fairly warm. I noticed some grey areas. Im sure they will hammer them over once the get some weather. Im sure all that fog wasnt friendly to the slopes. Still looks like enough snow for pushing until they get snowmaking again. Thanks for the vid.-- Its sad that they claim Countdown as an open trail. Is it one turn from buckhorn to Upper World Cup? Shame on them!

Just so there is no confusion it is one run that's all the 4 trails are segments that make up the one run. Typical ski are inflation.

Okemo will most likely have top to bottom tomorrow according to the employees. They are really close as of when I left at 4. It would be uploading sachem skiing world cup top to bottom. Lots of snowmaking around green ridge also. I don't know if anything there will be open but I wouldn't doubt it!

skisox nice video, a video question for you, I did not see a helmet cam but I may have not looked thoroughly, Was it a helmet cam? A nice steady shot for 3 mins for an amateur or do you have a lot aof vid experience? Almost like a promotional video done by a ski area itself . Just curious what you use and how to keep a steady shot. Nice job!
