Unfortunately I won't be there to help you up. Enjoy guys/gals. I knew I should have spent more time talking to Rick at the show in October. Take notes and pictures. Throw one of these later in the season and I'll make it.
NJskiBabe and I are already thinking about planning a Snow Journal South get together somewhere. Would love to see a Big Nelsap Ski day up north.
Well, I'll be picking up my pass at Ragged Saturday sometime. I'm not in any particular hurry to beat anyone to the lift so I may not show up until the afternoon as I'm not expecting any freshies. I may also ski Sunday afternoon.
Look for this guy although there may be more stickers on the helmet... __________

Yeah, we had a great time. It was me, Jeremy, Jeremy's friend Jason, Trackbiker, and Skijay joined us for the afternoon. Rick Bolger and Trackbiker hosted us for lunch in their condo. Rick served us New Jersey hot dogs at Trackbiker's "request". We met a bunch of other middle-aged men from New Jersey who seemed like an interesting group, but we didn't have much time to get acquainted. The skiing was pretty good, we did every run that was open, which was about a third of the mountain, but at least one run in every section except the south face. Beautiful day if on the cold side.

You guys would have made out much better at lunch if the Phillies had won. Somehow rickbolger thinks those hotdogs could be better than a real Philly cheesesteak?
Nice seeing mapnut again and meeting Jeremy, Jason, and Skijay.
Skiing was good. Sunday was better. Blue skies, $25.00 lift tickets, and they opened some more trails on natural snow only. Base was thin but no rocks and the snow was nice and soft. Great way to break in a new season.
Jeremy has the pics.
It was a great first day out. I now see why Subaru is the "unofficial" state car of VT after I parked & sank in a snow drift. I do like the Jackson Gore base area - very upscale.
I did not get a $25 ticket but I did get my 1/2 day for $52 and a voucher to ski in January M-F, including MLK day for $39. I think that is a great deal.
Here are the shots from Saturday - again, great trip! Skiing was great, and lunch was great, many thanks to Trackbiker and Rick Bolger for that! Good to see Mapnut and Skijay again as well. My friend Jason enjoyed meeting everybody too.
The last time I was at Okemo it was pre-Jackson Gore. How easy is it to ski back and forth from the gore to original mountain? The trail map looks like the "Junction" is a two way trail.
Really need to get back there.

It's not bad, the trails over to the Junction are reasonably pitched green trails in both directions, and the Junction is a flat area just about a hundred feet long. Limelight from the Junction down to the Jackson Gore quad is a very nice run, not flat at all. Mountain Road from Junction back to the main mountain is a bit flat.
