Shooting for a NELSAP ski day Dec 12th, weather permitting. I'm probably skiing this Sunday but I'm going to need sometime to practice with the new skis.
So, for Sat 12th, thinking Killington, Okemo, Mt. Snow, or Jiminy - whatever has the most open and is least expensive. I'll keep you all advised.
I think that you should go to Stratton. To pay them back for the free tickets that you got the last couple of years. Get a free x-card so that you can enjoy big discounts all season. After all, you did ski FREE last year.
Okemo goers....if the Sachem Trail is open, Trackbiker, myself and a few other ne'er-do-wells will gladly provide ski-in/ski-out lunch, refreshments, etc. at lunch time on Saturday.
Incidentally, have a couple beds avail Sunday night at a small chalet in West Dover VT cheap (approx $25 pp, less as more join in), same crew, just moving down the road a bit as our condo rental will be over, but we're planning to stay for the $25 food drive Okemo ticket. PM me or Trackbiker if interested.

Now Rick, why do you have to go and post stuff like that??
I'm half-tempted now to make the 5.5 hour drive....NELSAPers.....$25 lift tix.....Cheap bed.....I'm jonesing for snow.
Before your post, I was fine waiting a few more weeks till I ski on my birthday. Thanks.........thanks-a-lot
Jeff
edit: Crap...Now you're under a storm warning for 5-9 inches. You're killing me......

You either ski and die --- Or don't ski & die anyway --- Your choice
I see the food drive $25 lift ticket has been rescheduled to Sunday the 13th. What are they charging for a lift ticket for Saturday? I can not find a rate other than the $29 Thursday ticket.
Believe me, Kappcity06, mapnut is right. And "some day" comes a lot sooner than you might think.
Hey kappcity, I've skied with a few of those old timers. Most of us learned how to ski on ropetows, so we had to ski up the mountain as well as down. They're a tough bunch. My money is on them for any ski event you want to challenge them to.
Looking forward to hooking up with some SJer's on Saturday or Sunday at Okemo.
Okemo just got 14" - so lets do it! Saturday, meet 10am at the bottom of the Sachem Quad (might be away from some of the crowds). I'll have on a black jacket, no more Patriots hat as I have a helmet now. Look for my Solomon Xwing Storm skis.
Jeremy...a black jacket??? You've got to be kidding me! I'm know it looks good, but how are they (I'd be one of "them", if I could) going to find you among all of the thousands who also wear black jackets??? I think that you should put some neon colored Duct Tape (with NELSAP written on it) on your helmet, or something.
By the way, those new skis look awesome! But, again, no one will see them, because they will be buried under 3 feet of fresh powder.
Hope you all have a great day out there!

Me and a hundred other skiers plan to be at the Jiminy Season Pass window at 7AM Saturday to beat the crowds. I'll bring my camping chair so I won't have to stand for an hour and a half. Then I'll be on the hill! Finally! Hot wax time!
