I know Pats fans outnumber Giant fans here but I thought I would start up another trash talk thread to see who is rooting for who.
Whether it be your location, fondness of heart, nostalgia,or any reason, name the team you're rooting for with a small reason why?
I'll start-Jersey Giants, because that's where I hale from and my favorite deep fried hot dog stand(Rutt's Hutt)is within a stones throw of Giants stadium!

sorry kid but the Giants are a NEW YORK team, always have been always will be. Just because the currently play in dirty jersey doesnt mean a thing. I root for the JETs who always played in Long Island untill 83. The giants played in new york untill 75.

The more I think about this, the more I think you may have just sunk your '08 campaign. This reminds me of...

Pats fan here! I was happy to see the Giants win, though. I like little Manning & I think I'm probably Jeff Feagles (the punter) biggest fan. Noone ever cheers for the punter, so years ago, I asked for his autograph in Seattle & he was so excited. Class guy. I'm happy for him to go to the Superbowl. Go Pats! Feagles should be busy in that game.

I'm a Giants fan even though I'm a New Englander and a Red Sox fan. I guess that's because my father watched the Giants when I was a kid, not the Patriots - I think the AFL wasn't considered bona fide back then (the 60s). Anyway I've always kept the option of rooting for the Patriots in years when the Giants stink, so last year was good for me. I'll be rooting for the Giants, but I think I'll actually feel a little uncomfortable if they win. Because I think the Patriots are so good it will feel wrong if they lose.
If you haven't been watching the Giants, the improvement of Eli Manning in the last 6 games has been beyond belief.

Before there were Boston Patriots, the Giants were New England's football team. Chris Schenkel's "Touchdown, New York!" calls on Y. A. Tittle to Del Schoffner. So there's a soft spot in New England flinty hearts for the G-men. There was an article in Friday's BGR Daily News about a Giants-Packers preseason game in BANGOR(!!???!) in 1959 (link to lousy summary--they want $ to view Page title:Giants-Packers in BGR 1959.
But they're still gonna lose.

Go Giants!!!
I think it will be just as close as the regular season meeting of these two teams.
Score 38-35
This game started the Giants play off run, the one that not one sports caster picked any of the last three weeks. When the Giants kept on winning.
I see no resaon for that to stop now.

The title of this thread: Let's go "Jersey" Giants!
I agree. Please, go. Go far away, while in the meantime, the Pats will win. But the Pats play to win, not to cover the spread. If I were a betting man (and I am not), while I think the Pats will win, I doubt the Pats will cover the 13.5 point spread.
Having said that, why is this discussion here and not in the Pit?

Yeah who would have thought the last game of the season would be the super bowl preview.
Hey I am rooting giants but have a feeling it might be like there last super bowl appearance where I was playing cards by half time.
Although with their present performances the giants might at least make this interesting.

Agreed.
But meanwhile, here's the tally:
Go Giants: 7
Go Pats: 5
No vote from me, I'm one of those "Undecided's" or as the Michigan ballot reads, "Uncommitted". That's true, I haven't been committed...yet!

Really looking forward to this game! Great inter-city/region rivalry and two good teams, one of them from *cough* New England. Go Pats.
