I've been keeping track of the number of trails and lifts open at almost every resort in New England (except Mass and CT). The daily updated spreadsheet is located here:
Today saw in increase of 32 trails and 10 lifts, the first lift increase in 5 days. Today was also the first day the trail count broke 300. Tomorrow should be a big day, as many resorts are calling for a Dec. 1st opening.
P.S. - How many total trails does crotched have this year? the 29% count isn't very helpful, an actual open/total count would be much better.
__________
...between the click of the light and the start of the dream...
Satellite Summit
Cosmic Blast
Moon Walk
Galaxy
Lower Crotched Park
Meteor
(6 trails)
However, based on the amount of snow they had blown on them, I'd be stunned if Pluto's Plunge, Upper Crotched Park, and Big Dipper didn't open tomorrow, which would bring them to 8 (since they don't separate upper and lower Crotched Park on the map, I'm counting it as one trail).
I am told that they plan to start blowing snow on Super Nova tonight and that could be open by Sunday or Monday. Not sure what else is next.
BTW - anyone thinking about going to Crotched this weekend, don't even hesitate. The snow conditions were amazing even after the warm-up this week. The snow went edge-to-edge on every trail (no WROD on Crotched, no sir!), the snow was groomed powder (very little ice at all), and it wasn't crowded. Overall great ski trip.
