I noticed that Stratton has removed reference of the Kidderbrook Quad on its snow report? I wonder if they have started or are going to start removing the lift off of the mountain? I know it hardly ever operated and I think at one point they wanted to expand to the skiers right of the lift, but that never happened.
Wow, the Kidderbrook quad gone! That used to be the 'get away from it all' lift at Stratton back in the day. I used to enjoy doing laps on the lift and ripping Kidderbrook which is ~7,000 feet of crusing joy. I agree with Newpy that Stratton needs to make more snow on Kidderbrook.
Not that I ski there much, but I won't miss that lift. It was slow, cold, and the trail under the lift is the poster child for the "alternate" name for Stratton.
I've never skied Stratton, so I went online to their web site to reference a trail map. Imagine my surprise, shock, and dismay to find... no trail map on their web site! They have a map of the base area, but not of the trails.
Am I just missing it? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Yes it is there upper left of the mountain, but what is even more interesting, is that the web designers are using last year's trailmap. The 2007-08 trailmap shows the lift remove plus a new trail configuration at the bottom of the Tamarack lift to accomodate the Tamarack Heights real estate project. Add in the Mitten trail is now removed, plus Stage 1 lift is also gone.
When you charge $69 - $78 for an adult lift ticket and market yourself as a high-end resort you would expect the information on your website to accurate and not outdated. Shame on you Stratton __________

The lift ran for something like a dozen hours last year, so I don't think anyone will notice the difference, regardless of what the web site trail map shows.

Rocket if Stratton is trying to be the Deer Valley or Aspen of the East you would expect your website to be accurate including the trailmap. The fact that it took Stratton up until today to add it on to their website, almost a week after they had open for the season and then to use last year's map, would be considered some unacceptable. Look at Okemo, Sunapee, Attitash & Berkshire East all had subtle changes to their maps and they made sure it appeared on their websites. Okemo especially, everytime they made small changes to the area, they made it appear on the trailmap for that year. Another good example would be Cranmore when they removed the North Chair they had the trailmap updated on their website before the season even started.
Regardless if a lift was seldom used the previous year, your website should be accurate since this IS the main source for information which the public looks at now a days.

I'm not being an apologist for them, I'm just pointing out that it's not going to be a big deal to the vast majority of their skiers. A 20 year old slow quad in the middle of nowhere when there are two almost-new 6 packs next door really doesn't amount to much. No terrain has been lost and the ride up is faster without it.

Stratton regulars actually ski??? I thought they just walked around the base area village sipping lattes all day
Thanks for the information about the lift. I use to like to do the Kidderbrook circuit to avoid the crowds, but I guess that isnt an option anymore. Last time I did that was like 2000 or 2001 and I remember how cold and long the ride up was, but the 7k trip down was fun and warmed you up quick.
