Snowmaking Temps

I was wondering the cut-off ranges on snowmaking. I have read extensively that snow can only be made up to 28F wetbulb, though some sources say 32F wetbulb. Which is true? I know some Low-E guns can't make above like 26F wetbulb.

Also, what is the bottom range? I would assume you wouldn't want to make snow too cold - water could freeze in the pipes, unhealthy conditions for employees, etc.

the only number I can remember from my snowmakin' lernin' days was 17 degrees made optimal snow.

Generally if the temperature isn't going to drop below 28, most ski areas will skip the op...though, if the temp is cold on consecutive nights and the daytime temp only reaches the low to mid 30s, many ski areas will keep the guns running (possibly turning down the water/turning off any extra banks on a fan gun)
