Made up for last week at Belleayre (60 on Wed -Rain Thur) in 2 runs. 2+ inches fresh on top of 18+ packed from last storm. Temps in 20s AM with wind gusts, 30s PM. Blue skys 9:30 AM, snow squall 11 AM, blue skys after lunch. No lines. By far the best day of the year. Also they are remaining open until 5 PM weekends until the end of the season. Official closing date Sat April 7th. I questioned that and they said no one ever shows up on Easter. What a waste of good snow. I've yet to figure out why people want to pay full price to ski one trail with rocks in Dec. but not reduced price for 100% open in April. Some say it's psycological, I say it's crazy.

Yes Bob,it's that backyard effect thing,it's a "tweener" season,do I do yard work, hit the ball for the first time or dress light and be comfortable and ski on empty slopes. It is a shame and waste of hard earned accumulation. To be honest, with the rain coming down hard here today,my thoughts of driving 3 hours north to Boyne,Nubs Nob(95% open currently)or Crystal are not too strong with sunshine and 60 forecasted for Sat.
How was Hunter west and K27 holding?Remember many an icy yard sale there in my heyday there!
