NWS forecast:

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP THROUGH THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON BRINGING THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON TO THE AREA. THE FRONT WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY SNOW SHOWERS AND PERHAPS SOME SNOW SQUALLS. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT RESULTING IN AN INCREASE IN SNOW SHOWER ACTIVITY AS WELL AS AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW WITH NORTHWEST WINDS 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH. BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF LATE TONIGHT 3 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW WILL HAVE ACCUMULATED...WITH THE HIGHEST TOTALS EXPECTED ACROSS THE WEST FACING SLOPES OF THE SOUTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS AND NORTHERN BERKSHIRES.
