Used Lift Question

edited September 23 in NELSAP Forum
If a resort buys a used lift, is it typical to try to fit it onto the terrain as is, or is new cable and new towers added , or towers subtracted, to get the right alignment?

  • You try to design the lift profile to match the original lift as closely as possible.
  • When the Rocket was moved to CM from Ascutney, it was substantially shortened.

The original FGQuad that it replaced was not a new lift. It stopped short of the top. I had heard (I don't know if true) that they could have run it to the top but the motor would have been underpowered and they would have to have run the haul rope at a slower speed.
