Mount Sunapee 6/2/2018 (Skiing, Mountain Biking, & Lift Photos)

I spent the weekend up near Mount Sunapee and was at the resort Saturday. I did 4 hours of downhill biking on South Peak on the excellently constructed trails. Then I headed over to the terrain park to ski the remaining mound of snow. It was probably 5 feet deep or so and about 12' vertical. I did 13 runs down various faces of the mound to ensure I got at least 100' vertical total. In the evening, I took a walk from my campsite to the bottom of Sun Bowl, where the future North Peak quad is being stored.

  • Nice report as always. Are you adding that vert to last season or next?

For me, I'll consider anything up until August as from the previous winter. After all, that's when the snow is from.

  • I guess this means I can pretty safely say that I was the last one to ski at Sunapee before they got bought by Vail.

  • Wait a minute! There's a mini golf under there?? I'm lucky I never ran into that lighthouse or gondola!

I don't remember those light poles bring there in the winter either, I wonder how much of it they remove.

  • That was there the 2nd to last year I worked there. The Gondola is new, but all of the tall items come down and are stored for the winter (light poles, lighthouses, etc). We put hay bales over the concrete stuff and snowmaking blew a whole bunch of snow on top of it. I believe we aimed for a minimum 4' depth on it just to be safe.
